When Vanity Fair decided to spotlight Aaron Tveit of Catch Me If You Can in the April 2011 issue, the magazine tapped an expert to comment on Tveit's performance as charming con artist Frank Abagnale Jr.: the man himself! Now an FBI fraud expert, the real Abagnale writes, “To be portrayed twice by such talented young men—first by Leonardo DiCaprio in Steven Spielberg’s film version of my 1980 memoir, and now by Aaron, a true star on the rise—is humbling, to say the least.” Abagnale goes on to opine that Tveit “is giving a career-making performance you don’t want to miss” and that the Broadway musical “will be even bigger than the movie, and I’m not a play person.” Take a look at Mark Seliger’s portrait of Tveit, then make plans to see the show at the Neil Simon Theatre, where previews begin on March 11.
